Our Open Gardens project is modeled on the successful, long-standing tradition of Open Gardens in England. 
Private gardens are graciously made available to the public on a particular day at a particular time. 
Visitors are allowed to simply drop by.  Our Open Gardens are listed below by neighborhoods. 
Please note the specific day and time that the garden is open.

PARKSIDE

  • The Garden of Marlene Liberti:
    1071 Amherst Street, Buffalo, NY 14216 (between Delaware & Colvin)

    Open Hours: 2:00-5:30pm on 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28

    This is a country garden in the city. You’ll see 30-year old gardens, some on blacktop & concrete that include, perennials, containers and shrubs. There are also large mixed borders fronting a view stolen from a neighbor. We call it rustic elegance! Buffalo in Bloom award, easy access, wheelchair accessible.

  • The Garden of Stephen & Connie Muscarella:
    597 Crescent Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14214
    (off Parkside, near Delaware Park and Buffalo Zoo)

    Open Hours: 2:00-5:30pm on 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28

    Located in Buffalo’s historic Parkside community, our small city garden is packed with many different perennials and annuals that provide constant color all season long. Come and see our little plot of heaven. Easy access and wheelchair accessible.

    Sheuttle/Szydlowski Garden
  • The Garden of Mary Jane Szydlowski & Frank Scheuttle:
    99 Robie Street, Buffalo, NY 14214 (near the Olmsted Parks Lodge)

    Open Hours: 2:00-5:30pm on 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28

    Front, rear and side gardens with numerous outside rooms. Both sun and shade areas. Many pieces of art, sculpture and architectural details with containers and hardscapes. A stay-cation yard. Easy access.

    Shaffner Garden
  • The Garden of Carolyn Schaffner:
    464 Crescent Avenue, Buffalo, New York 14214
    (near the Buffalo Zoo, off Amherst St. between Parkside & Main)

    Open Hours: 2:00-5:30pm on 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28

    A city lot, planted front and back with specialty collections of hosta in containers and in the soil, daylilies, heuchera, etc. A Skeleton House is always in progress. If rabbits leave the Dutchman’s Pipe, the vine would cover its “ceiling”.
